Chapter 17: Evil Restored Part 2

So once again Seleena changed into her Dragon Form and took the group straight to the ruined complex.

When they arrived the island was a mess and in ruins, most parts where sunk or flooded.

Soldiers where on parts of the Island, cleaning up the remains of Scorpana after when Bison and his group had defeated the thing, so the group had to trend carefully with them around.

Entering the complex in her normal form with the group Seleena said as she remembered “some where around here there should be some pods”.

They entered the medical part of the complex where they saw a grim sight of bodies, even the smell was bad.

“Great, the smell of dead... I hate it” said Ralf as he rubbed his arms.

Bruce nodded and said as he agreed “you and me both Ralf”.

Eddy hid behind Seleena as he didn't like the sight or the smell either, Seleena looked at him and said “do you want to wait outside?”

Shaking his head Eddy just said “n-no, I'm just not feeling good”.

Seleena held her tail out to Eddy and said “here hold this and stick close to me, you'll be alright”.

“T-thanks”.

Bruce then decided to go ahead so he could find the room that was needed and if possible clear the area of the bodies, other wise they all end up being sick, the smell was horrible.

When the pods were found by Bruce he called Ralf and asked “hey shorty! Do you think these will work?”

Ralf was not liking being called shorty and decided to say “and this is coming from someone who looks like a thug star, rather then a rock star?”

“Ah shut up and get here” he said to get him to come over.

Ralf went into the room and looked, he then said as he guessed again, answering Bruce's question “possible, they look intact, but can we work these? I mean we don't have anything like this on our world”.

Seleena looked at the pods and said as she was convinced they could work as they looked in perfect shape “perfect, now we need a power supply”.

Bruce crossed his arms as he lent on a wall “good luck with that, this place is wrecked”.

Nina then said as a suggestion “can we not use our power to power it?”

Seleena scratch her head and said as she looked at the power cables “only one way to find out”.

She picked up the cables and held them in her hands, with an idea in mind “right I will get the pod powered up with my charge of energy, Nina I am going to need you to help me, but whatever you do... do not touch anything metal and do not touch me, just focus your power on me”.

Eddy letting go of her tail asked “what will happen if she does?”

“It will hurt like anything and you will see one fried dragoness here or possible an angry one” explained Seleena.

“Yikes” said Eddy as he moved well away”.

Nina placed Fireball into the Healing Pod and Ralf closed the door on it.

Seleena then said as she was getting ready “alright here we go, one dragon power house coming up”.

She then used her power to send a charge down the cables, which didn't do anything at first until she increased it and suddenly the machine was started.

Nina got into position and used her power to help.

Isabel kept beside the pod, making sure her father was alright.

Ralf then said as he was looking at the switches “I am going to guess that this symbol of a bird and sun is for healing, then the one of a jackal and a moon is to revive, but however if I got this right, if I push the jackal and the moon first it would kill him, as the jackal symbolises Anubis, the God of the Underworld, if I have that correct, so that must mean the bird and sun is Ra”.

“Amun-Ra or Ra, the sun is Aten, where Ra would go in the day time, then at night he would visit Anubis” said Isabel, who seemed to know alittle bit about ancient stories.

Ralf then said as he knew he was right “so I was right, so that means..” he pressed on the bird and sun symbol first which activated the Healing Device healing process, he then looked at the jackal and moon symbol and asked “now do I press this one now or later?”.

Isabel then said as she wasn't sure “I don't know”.

Seleena then said as she struggled “give it five minutes then do it!”

“Can you hold for that long?” asked Ralf.

“I gonna try!”.

Nina then said as she was still backing her up “don't worry I got your back Seleena”.

Isabel placed her hands on the pod and used her power to help boost the energy.

“Careful not to over do it, you are young” stated Ralf.

“Which means I got more energy compared to your old people” jestered the dragoness.

Bruce then asked as he wasn't sure what he should be doing “so what do you need me to do?”

A voice then said “how about dying mortal?!”

When he heard this a blast shot out of no where and Bruce darted out the way.

Nina stopped what she was doing and looked around to where that blast came from.

“You focus on Seleena, I'll take care of our friend” said Bruce who knew exactly who it was that fired at them.

“Come on Corrobis you want a piece of Bruce! Come and get me!” provoked the wolf, only to be met with this dark figure flying into him and knocking him against the wall.

However Bruce responded back by hitting him, only to end up with his fist going through the black jackal's chest.

“Idiot dog! You haven't learnt! You can't hurt a God!” Corrobis grabbed Bruce's hand and pulled it out of him, then lifting him up by it, looking at him in the eye and then saying “you think that fall would of killed me? You think my plans are spoiled? Wrong! They are far from spoiled and I can not die, I always survive”.

Suddenly this white blast hits him, knocking him into the wall, forcing him to drop Bruce.

Nina that fired it and entered the hall that they were in said to Corrobis as she was getting fed up with his talks “you talk too much”.

Getting up Corrobis looked at Nina and said “foolish dog! You will perish here and now, along with the rest of you!”

Before he powered up for another attack Nina quickly dived on him and began to wrestle with him, while Seleena and Isabel were keeping the pod going.

Bruce helped Nina to get Corrobis outside of the room, keeping him away from the others, while saying to them “keep going, we got this mad jackal”, he was then grabbed by this black fist round his throat and pulled to the hall where Nina was trying to keep Corrobis at bay.

Punching Corrobis off him Bruce then said as a warning “keep your damn filthy paws off me you damn dirty jackal”.

“Bite me as you mortals would say” said Corrobis and that was what Nina did, she bit him on the ear as she jumped on his back.

“Gah, get off me White!”.

“You said bite me so I did” said the white wolf as she straggled him.

Until he turned his head 360 round to her and headbutts her, then turning it back again, “one of the advantages of inheriting my father's powers my body can almost do anything!” laughed the jackal.

Nina then fired another white blast at him and quickly he disappeared and reappeared behind her, kicking her towards Bruce while saying “catch Grey!”

Bruce did try to catch her but however ended up with her on top of him.

Corrobis then said as he glared at them, wanting to make them pay for what they did to him and his plans “you may of spoiled my plans, but no matter, I can just take it out on you!”

“Go cry to your daddy then” said Bruce as he grabbed a long bar as he got up, being careful not to let Nina fall.

Corrobis made his lance appear and said as he knew Bruce was going to hit him with that bar “try it puny dog and see what happens”.

Nina got up and said as she held Bruce back “wait... maybe we are going about this the wrong way”, Nina was having a thought, she remembered about what happened to Corrobis mate, Septinus and remembered who killed her “Corrobis I know who killed Septinus”.

“This again? Isn't this getting old?”

Bruce then said as he too knew as Corro admitted it to him “it was Corro, he even said it was him, he is proud of it too”.

“Really? And you make it sound if I care”.

“Because you do” said Nina as she was trying to reach out to Corrobis.

“Nice try but sadly for you two I don't care, after I am Corrobis the Destroyer of Worlds, I care for no one!”

“She was the one who stopped you, that was why Corro killed her, he didn't want you to be what you could be, someone better, someone stronger” said the white wolf.

But Corrobis twirled his lance round and got into a fighting stance as he got ready to charge.

“Corrobis Septinus loved you!”

“Tell it to someone who cares!” and the mad jackal flew at them, attacking them as he did so.

But Bruce block his attacks with the bar he had and whacked into his lance.

“Corrobis you are not a bad God, you can be good, she proved that!” said Nina as she was seeing into his memories, “look deep, remember!”

She was then whacked away by Corrobis and Bruce was pushed by a strong force made by Corrobis.

“Mortals you think I have a heart? Really are you that stupid?!”

“I would rather be stupid then blind” said Nina as she got up, “but I guess you are too far gone” she then used her white power and hit him with a very strong blast, knocking him across the room while still standing.

He then looked at her with a sinister grin “tut tut little wolf, you have to do better then that”.

She then fired another but this time Corrobis fired a blast of his own, hitting her blast and knocking her across the other side of the room.

Bruce then whack him with the bar he still had, but Corrobis grabbed the bar the seconded time he went to strike and looked at him firmly “you got a death wish mutt?”

“Not as much as you” Bruce then punched him in the face to which Corrobis headbutts him, causing him to back off slightly.

As Bruce rubbed his head with his hand Corrobis said to mock him farther “I know I am everyone's headache but I didn't think I was that bad”, he then laughed.

His laughter was soon silenced when another white blast hits him, this time it hurt him, even though he didn't show his pain, but the blood from his body showed that it did.

Bruce was expecting him to heal and show off about his power, giving one of his so called “I'm a God” speeches, but he didn't he just looked at the white wolf as he raised his hand, getting ready to fire another blast of his own.

Quickly Bruce tried to dive on him but was soon pushed aside and then held down by Corrobis foot “this is where insects like you belong, at the bottom of my heel”, he then pressed down hard on Bruce and then said to Nina to provoke her more, while at the sametime admiring her power “I give you credit White you are powerful, you even made me bleed, but at the end of the day you are just a woman and him just a man, where I am forever!”, he then fires this black ball of energy at her.

Nina sees it coming and quickly she jumps over it as it flies past her, hitting the wall the other side of her, exploding on contact.

She was going to fire another white blast until she saw Corrobis pointing his lance at Bruce, daring her to fire but with a question “go ahead, do it! I dare you! But question is can you be quick to save this pup's life?”

Nina with an idea in mind then said as she stared down into his eyes “you underestimate me Corrobis”.

She was looking into Corrobis thoughts again and this time she found an image of Corro killing Septinus, one Corrobis had been forced to forget, which caused Corrobis to react in such a way, it almost seemed he was scared.

He tried to get her out of his head, but while he was in a confused state Bruce was going to take the advantage over him, but Nina told him not to, she wanted to try to reach to Corrobis one last time.

Bruce felt it was impossible as Corrobis was heartless and had no emotions of good in him.

But Nina didn't believe that, even so she wanted to try, even if he did kill many, including her two friends and caused so much trouble and hurt.

Corrobis struggling raised his hand to Nina and lifts her up with his power, straggling her with it “you are the one who underestimated me...”

Bruce tried to get Corrobis to let her go, but he was met with the same force, but this time pushing him flying into another room “annoying dog, I will deal with you later”.

Nina struggling tries to get Corrobis to realise her, but the mad jackal kept a firm grip on her, the only time he did let her throat go was when he pushed her with his power, however the push felt like he was punching her in the gut, which caused her to almost gasp, till she was grabbed again and then pushed again.

“You think your White Magic is a match for that which I possess?”

He then pushed her again, this time she hit a window, causing it to crack, she could feel her rips being crushed.

“You have missed your chance to defeat me... now you will die”.

With such a strong force he pushed her out of the window, causing it to shatter.

Thinking he had beaten her he turned his back to window to deal with Bruce.

That was until he felt an aura and as he looked back he saw this white wolf rise up, surrounded in a white aura and with these white ghostly wings.

“Well what have we here?”

“Your worst nightmare!” said the angry wolf as she fired a blast at him and this time it was strong, so strong it sent Corrobis flying across the room.

When Nina came back in she got herself to calm down and got the aura to go, making the wings disappear.

She then said as a warning to Corrobis as she knew what her power could do “I'll give you a warning and a chance Corrobis... stop this now before it gets out of hands”.

Corrobis ignored her warning and fired these bolts at her, to which this white shield surrounded her, protecting her from the bolts.

“Corrobis stop I don't want it to get to that point!” said the struggling wolf, who was trying to avoid killing him because her power was getting to that point where it felt threatened so much it was going to protect her anyway it could.

“Your power is no match for a God!” said the insane jackal.

Pointing to his wound that she could see was struggling to heal Nina said to get him to see sense “look at it, you can't heal against my power, it will kill you”.

“You can't kill a God”.

“Forget your God status and listen to me”.

But Corrobis didn't listen he just fired another blast at her, this time ripping through the shield and hitting her, which caused her power to go into protection mode and this white flash hits him with such a force it sends him flying out the window on the other side of the room.

Nina quickly got control of herself and said to her power “no... there is no need to kill”.

She rushed over to the window where she saw him hanging on and looking very badly wounded, even his power could not help him at this point, his wings looked a mess, blood ran down his body and part of his face.

So holding her hand out to him she said to him as she tried to save him “grab my hand!”

But he just stared at her, not doing anything and she said it again “grab my hand!”

Corrobis who was going through what he saw in his mind about Corro killing Septinus said out of thought “so my own son killed her? Corro, my own son... killed her...”

“Corrobis please!”

Looking at the White Wolf he then said as he whacked her hand away, keeping to his aggressive attitude “I would rather suffer in agony, I would rather die a thousand times in pain, I would rather be stuck in that armour then to accept help from you!”.

“Stop being so stubborn... do you want to get Corro back for what he done? At lest live for that!” Nina was trying so hard to get Corrobis to grab her hand, but Corrobis just looked at her and said “today this God shall fall”, and fell he did, he lets go of the part he was holding onto and he fell into a void that opened up below him, where he disappeared.

Nina looked in disbelief, still holding her hand out, unsure what to think at this point.

She then slowly lowered her hand and went back inside, looking back at the veiw below and then back inside the building.

Bruce came out of the room he was pushed in and looked at Nina's emotionally expression, it was like a mixture of sadness, shock and regret.

“Nina...” he said calmly.

Nina looked at him and said as she regretted her actions “I may regret this day for the rest of my life”.

“You did what you had to, he wasn't leaving you, or us for that matter, much of a choice” said the Grey Wolf as he tried to comfort her.

“Maybe...” sighed Nina “if only he would of listened or grabbed my hand”.

“You can't save everyone and besides he made his choice the moment he started all of this”.

“Did he though?” Nina asked as she looked at him, wondering if Corrobis was just a victim himself, a victim of his own power or his son's betrayal to his love Septinus, or his own anger of being imprisoned, either way Nina felt sorry for Corrobis and was sorry he fell.

Walking to the room where the Healing Pods where Nina and Bruce saw both Seleena and Isabel looking very tired and exhausted.

Seleena was being held up by Eddy, who was using his tail as a fan to try and cool her down.

While Ralf was making sure Isabel was alright by checking her over.

“Is everything alright?” asked Bruce in a calm tone.

Ralf said as he explained “well the girls are exhausted from the energy they had to use, plus madam here decided to use her magic to help with the process”.

He was talking about Isabel, it sounded like that he disagreed with the idea of her using her magic, while at the sametime was relieved.

“So did it work?”

Coming out from one of the pods this green dragonman said to answer his question “it sure did... damn what a headache”.

It was Fireball, he was fully healed, although he did look like had a drink or two the way he held his head, which reminded Nina of when she first met him, causing her to giggle.

Ralf then said as there was another surprise “well he is healthy and so is Fireball number 2”

“Number 2!” said Bruce and Nina in a surprised tone.

Fireball then asked as he was unsure himself “what do you mean number 2?”

Seleena then asked as she had a feeling something happened “ok... whose fault is it?”

Ralf then said as he walked over to the second pod “well I would say all of our faults as we did wanted to save Fireball”.

“Oh so we just blame Fireball”.

Fireball looked at Seleena and stated “hey! I didn't have a say in the matter!”

“You shouldn't of been a Mary Sue and got yourself hurt” jest Seleena as she weakly walks over  to second pod with the help of Eddy.

Ralf opened the pod and said for a jest as he saw something inside it “congratulations it is a boy, a teen by the looks of it”.

“Wait what?!” said Fireball who rushed over, while almost staggering.

Bruce and Nina looked over too and inside the pod they saw a green, young dragon, it looked almost like Fireball in his dragon form, but younger and without the star on his head, just the Dragon Eye.

“Where did he came from?” asked Seleena who saw it.

“Well... would you believe from both Fireball, you and Isabel” guessed Ralf, who was just as confused as the rest.

“You mean his a clone?”

“Yeah... I guess...”

Burce looked at Fireball and then at this other Fireball, then back to Fireball again “I guess it could have been worst”.

“Hey!” said Fireball who found that remark offensive.

Nina looked at him and said “well he does have the looks of you Fireball and even the scent of you too, I think Ralf is right”.

“How?” asked a confused Fireball.

Ralf then said as he thought “I believe your cells could have been transferred into this pod, then with Seleena and Isabel using their power it caused the cells to form, making a new life, or another you”.

“Kinda like Frankenstein” said Seleena.

“But also I believe when Isabel used her magic, which I told her not to, it actually gave him life”.

“So he is alive?” asked Bruce.

“Yes”.

“So what do we do with him?” asked Bruce.

Fireball looked at him and thought for a bit “he'll be at risk if he comes with me, if my father smells he is me he would kill him and he'll be no match for him”.

Nina then suggested that he could stay with them, but Bruce asked who would look after him as he wasn't from their world and he would need teaching, but also was concerned about how people may look at him different as he doesn't look like the normal dragons of their world.

Fireball nodded but however knew he would be safe on their world, plus people may think he was just another dragon.

Bruce however stated about the scent, some people can small if something or someone was not of their world.

Seleena then raised her hand up and told them she would take him under her wing, she would stay behind on their world a raise him as her own, at lest with her being there it would grant him protection.

Ralf wondered what of the soldiers and the Village, how would they take to Seleena staying on their world?

Smiling Seleena knew that she could talk with the soldiers and explain the situation, besides she wasn't caught using magic so she could be ok.

However Fireball was caught and well known for using magic, their for he wouldn't be safe as he would be a wanted man.

Nina sighed as she knew that meant Fireball would have to leave, she knew he would as he had a home to return to and other duties to preform, but she felt bad that he was not welcome to her world freely, especially after all he did.

Placing his hand on her shoulder Fireball said to her “hey, I got your back”, it was his ways to say that he will always be their for her, no matter how far they are.

Nina looked up to him with smile and nodded to him as she knew he meant that.

The clone of Fireball was beginning to wake and the capsal door opened.

Ralf then said as he wondered what to call the clone “so what do we call him?”

Seleena then said as she looked at the clone “well I guess we have to call him Fireball JR”.

Ralf nodded and then said as he had another theory “it is unclear, but if he is your clone, Fireball, then it is most likely he may remember some elements of your memory, but not all”.

Seleena then said as she knew what to do “leave him with me, I will take care of him and help him with his memory, if needed, but however we must teach him to be his own unique self, not another version of Fireball here, other wise it won't be it self, instead it be living Fireball's life”.

Nina nodded and said as she was wiling to help “listen if you need me to help with him I can help, after all I know some things about dragons, plus I owe it to you and Fireball”.

So the group decided to leave the ruins of the complex, taking the clone with them and then leaving the island, but before they left Fireball had placed a strange looking device in the complex near the healing stations, it was a bomb, one that would destroy the whole ruins.

Fireball didn't want people to get a hold of the technology in the ruins incase it could lead to something dangerous.

When they got far from the island a loud bang was heard and this blast came out of the ruined complex and spread around the ruins, wiping out all trances of the technology there.

The Soldiers saw what had happen and were surprised by this, even Bison was, but at the same time he knew who it was and despite him hating magic users, he smiled and said “I was wondering when you would do that, Magic User”.

In the air away from the island Bruce looked at Fireball while they were riding on Seleena in her dragon form, knowing he had something to do with that explosion “going out with a bang?”

“I wouldn't have it any other way” jest Fireball.

Nina then looked back at the explosion, she wondered if Corrobis was taken out with that explosion or was he at the bottom of the sea, or was he... no... she didn't want to think about the possibilities of him being alive still, sure it be good because she was trying to save his life, but knew he would be unforgiving and would be very dangerous.

Bruce knew she was looking back, thinking about Corrobis, so he said with assurance “hey, it's over”.

Fireball then said as he knew he had his problems to deal with back home “for you guys yeah, me? Nope, I am on a never ending fight sadly”.

“Never is a long time, it has to end soon” said Nina.

“I hope so, till then this is where people like me stand in and tell those crazy people to back off”.
